Saying 1: He said,
"Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience
death."
Meaning:
'Death' in this context is believing that
you are no more than a physical being, a part of the world. Physical death is
letting go of your physical life, possessions and the people you shared your
life with, but death in the context of the saying, refers to letting go of the
belief in your true spiritual nature. Those who do not believe in the spiritual
have lost their true identity and it is in this context that it is said 'the
dead shall rise from their graves', i.e. their true identity will be revealed to
them. So in finding the interpretation of the sayings, ones true identity is
revealed.
Saying 2: Jesus
said, "Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds,
he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and
he will rule over the All."
Meaning:
The last place that anyone searches
is within. What you seek is not in the world. You must keep on searching until
you find yourself. When you find yourself it will be fully realised that you
are not of the world, not physical or material. In realising this, you will also
realise that you are immortal, indestructible, and that you need nothing of the
world to sustain your life. All fear disappears; you become a truly free spirit.
You are ruled over by no-one and no-one can control or deceive you. It is you then
that rules over your life and all that is not life.
Logia 3:
Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, (A) 'See, the kingdom
is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you,
'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is
inside of you, and it is outside of you. (B) When you come to know yourselves,
then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the
sons of the living father. (C) But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell
in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
Meaning:
(A) God's Kingdom is everywhere. The universe is a part of God's kingdom, separated from heaven for the retention of God’s perfect kingdom. The universe is a place where God's children must learn and choose God's way by their own free will. The mind is a part of God's kingdom, given as the personal domains of God's children. Let me tell you a story:
There was a
man who had a very very large garden. He kept this garden in perfect order, it
was very beautiful and only contained plants that were pleasing and those that
gave good food. In that garden, there were no harmful creatures, weeds or
thorns. The man was the perfect gardener.
There came the day when the perfect gardener decided to start a family and when the children began to grow the father decided that he would give them a part of the garden each. Now the children didn't know how to care for a garden and not wanting his perfect garden spoilt, he decided that their gardens would each be surrounded by a fence. Only when a child had learnt to become a perfect gardener would the fence be taken down and they could share in their father’s garden.
We each have a
garden, our own domain, we call it mind. The perfect gardener's domain is
called Heaven.
(B) When you
realise what you are, the Spirit will come to you, and you will realise that
you are a child of God.
(C) To come to
know the self is to find truth. A soul without love and truth is of little
worth, for love and truth are the treasure that permits entry into heaven.
Without these three things (self realisation, love and truth) we are poor in
spirit, we ourselves are the poverty.
Logia 4:
Jesus said, (A) "The man old in days will not hesitate to ask a small
child seven days old about the place of life, and he will live. (B) For many
who are first will become last, and they will become one and the same."
Meaning:
This should not be taken literally.
Its meaning is much deeper.
(A) The man old in days is a reincarnated soul that finds itself in its seven day old physical body. The child knows that its place of life is its awareness and not its body. Because of this, the soul lives.
(B) Many who
found their place of life as children, will forget and become last to receive
divine knowledge. Their soul and body will seem as one and the same.
Logia 5: Jesus said, "Recognize what is
in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you. For
there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest”.
Meaning:
'What is in your sight' is not you. That
which is aware of what is in your sight, is you. All that is in the world and
in the mind can be seen therefore, they are not you.
If you
recognise this, you will become self aware. It is the self that remains hidden,
due to distractions of the focus.
Logia 6:
His disciples questioned him and said to him, "Do you want us to fast? How
shall we pray? Shall we give alms? What diet shall we observe?"
Jesus said, "Do not tell lies, and do not do what you hate, for all things
are plain in the sight of heaven. For nothing hidden will not become manifest,
and nothing covered will remain without being uncovered."
Meaning:
This is
far more important saying that it first appears. If you put that which is a lie
in your mind, there is really no place to hide from it, and living in denial is
at best temporary. If you are not true to yourself, then you are the servant of
lies. It is very difficult to be completely honest with yourself, to face the
wrong choices made in life and to lay down what we have invested so much in,
but giving up the world and the false images we create for ourselves, is
necessary to be reborn spiritually. We must let go of all that the world has made
us and become the last. We must be sincere and honest with ourselves as well as
with others.
Logia 7:
Jesus said, "Blessed is the lion which becomes man when consumed by man;
and cursed is the man whom the lion consumes, and the lion becomes man".
Meaning:
Blessed is the physical
body that is dominated by its soul. Cursed is the soul that is
dominated by its physical body.
Logia 8: And he said, "The man is like a
wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full
of small fish. Among them the wise fisherman found a fine large fish. He threw
all the small fish back into the sea and chose the large fish without
difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear."
Meaning:
The fish represents the souls of
people. Their size is related to the goodness and righteousness in their soul
and how awake in remembrance they are. The small fish are returned so that they
may grow. These represent the souls not yet awake.
Logia 9:
Jesus said, "Now the sower went out, took a handful (of seeds), and
scattered them. Some fell on the road; the birds came and gathered them up.
Others fell on the rock, did not take root in the soil, and did not produce
ears. And others fell on thorns; they choked the seed(s) and worms ate them.
And others fell on the good soil and it produced good fruit: it bore sixty per
measure and a hundred and twenty per measure."
Meaning:
Jesus was the
sower; the deliverer of truth.
The seeds
represent the revelations of truth.
The scattering
of the seeds represent his teachings.
The seeds that
fell on the road represent the truths that were not understood but accepted and
taken away by pretenders. They were wasted teachings.
The seeds that
fell on the rock represent the truth given to the hard hearted people who
refused to accept them.
The thorns
represent the people who were opposed to the truths and argued against them,
finding a way in their hearts to deny them.
The good soil
represents those who understood and accepted the truth and then passed them on
to others.
Logia 10: Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes".
Meaning:
Jesus cast Truth into the world, and
was guarding it against those who did not like it, until it spread like a fire,
burning away deception and lighting the darkness.
